NAS
My Solidrun_CuBox_(solidrun-cubox) is connected via eSATA to a 4-3.5" bay SATA-HDD enclosure. It gets also the required 5VDC (=2A) from a step-down converter module connected to the 19VDC supply for the enclosure. In the enclosure are currently 4 disk:
- 1 TB
- 1 TB
- 500 GB
- 250 GB
The cubox itself boots from a 64Gb sd-card
NFS
The first three disks are used for NFS-shares on brtfs partitons. for setting up NFSv4 sharing, please refer to alpinelinux-Wiki: Setting_up_an_NFS_server
iSCSI
The last disk is partitioned into several small partitions of 25 or 50 Gb size. These partitions are shared as block devices via iSCSI, for setting up the target, please refer to https://wiki.alpinelinux.org/wiki/Linux_iSCSI_Target_(TCM)
For openRC-systems, the open-iscsi package from alpine can be used.
For systemd-systems, please check pmaports!8951.
The ArchWiki -Open-iSCSI gives also a good oveeview how to get connected with iSCSI
