Hi, I'm Hieraphant.
I've been following Linux on mobile since the Ubuntu Touch days, and I've spent a lot of time around custom ROMs, Android tinkering, and FOSS/privacy-focused projects. For a long time, I never really owned a device that felt easy—or even realistically possible—to port. postmarketOS changed that for me.
This is my first real attempt at Linux mobile work, and the device I'm putting that energy into is the Google Pixel Tablet (tangorpro). I also own a Pixel 10 XL, but the tablet is my main focus. My long-term goal is to help push tangorpro toward postmarketOS support and, eventually, contribute to mainlining work around both the device and the Google Tensor G2 platform it is built on.
So far, I've completed a raw dump and a live DTB extraction, and I'm turning that work into structured notes, component maps, and documentation I can build on.
About
I come from the Android modding side of things more than the traditional embedded Linux side, so a lot of this is equal parts curiosity, research, and learning as I go. I'm especially interested in devices that sit in the awkward space between "possible" and "nobody has really done it yet."
Current work
- raw dump documentation
- live DTB extraction and analysis
- partition, firmware, and boot-chain mapping
- building a clearer foundation for future porting and mainlining work
Devices
- Google Pixel Tablet (tangorpro) — main project and current focus
- Google Pixel 10 XL — personal device, secondary interest
